This game includes all of the franchises from the predecessor LEGO Dimensions (2015), with an additional 110 franchises (including LEGO Dimensions itself), some of which were backward integrated from the follow-up game LEGO Multiverse (2023), for a total of 140 franchises.Īll of the characters from the prior game LEGO Dimensions (2015) will be playable in this game and unlocked over time, with the toy tags of the LEGO Minifigures from LEGO Dimensions able to be used as power-ups that can be applied to other characters in this game from those that have their bases through scanning them into the game using the Toy Pad from LEGO Dimensions. Similarly, web-slinging plays closer to how it is in Marvel's Spider-Man (2018). Flying plays comparable to how it is in Super Mario Galaxy with the Red Star.They also have a level-up tiering system alongside the health bars that increase from experience points gained during combat. Characters no longer have hearts anymore and rather have health bars that diminish over time from damage.As old and new dimensions are locked in an endless crusade against one another while their frictions further instigate the closure of the area, seeking to trap them in-between dimensions for all eternity to face a force unbound by matter. Batman, Gandalf the Grey, and Wyldstyle are brought together again by the Twelfth Doctor to take part in this competition after hearing word that the Cards Conductor has taken captive of X-PO in search of the last known location of Lord Vortech to twist and bend the inner core of the multiverse at his own will, using the tournament as a distraction for his schematics. Set three years after Lord Vortech's imprisonment, a devious collector of dimensional components known as the Cards Conductor has arrived in the LEGO multiverse and brought with him the "Mad Games" grand tournament at Dimenia, filled with puzzles, attractions, competitive challenges, survival situations, and a set of awards that contain cosmic energy fueling throughout the tournament's sectors.

A follow-up film, LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse, is scheduled to be released in December of 2021, with a spin-off series, LEGO Dimensions: Adrift Into Overtime, scheduled to premiere in June of 2022, and a follow-up video game to this game and the latter two, LEGO Multiverse, is scheduled to be released in September of 2023, to conclude the storyline.

It is scheduled to be released on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, BlazeBox, Blaze Oblong, Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android on December 10th, 2020, coinciding with its' release on Inferno Scope. The game is developed by Traveller's Tales, The LEGO Group, and Imagination Entertainment, and published by Warner Bros. It is set in a possible continuity connected to other LEGO video games, including LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (2013), LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (2014), LEGO Dimensions, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (2017), and LEGO DC Super-Villains (2018). The game includes media franchises from various LEGO themes and titles in addition to new and custom franchises that aren't generally plausible to be included in such a game, while the story centers on an original plot. It is a crossover between several different media franchises while excluding the Toys-to-Life aspect of that game in favor of different elements, such as open worlds, puzzles, and collections. LEGO Dimensions: Mystify Mad Games is an upcoming 2020 LEGO sandbox puzzle action-adventure platform collect-a-thon video game created and directed by Trailblazer101 as a follow-up to LEGO Dimensions (2015) and a part of The LEGO Dimensions Marathon Saga.
